Dr. Tan Chou Yong, a Professor, is currently serving as Deputy Dean of Value Creation & Enterprise, Faculty of Engineering at the University of Malaya. A PhD graduate from University of Malaya in 2008, he is also a Senior Teaching Fellow for South China University of Technology, China. He specialises in teaching Engineering Thermodynamics, Engineering Materials, Statics & Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Composite Materials, Ceramics Materials and Materials Selection & Design. His research interests include nanomaterials, bioceramics and fuel cells technology materials. To date, he has published more than 130 publications in Web of Science with h-index of 23 and citations more than 1700. He has also completed his supervision on 11 PhD students and 15 Masters by Research students. In addition, Ir. Dr. Tan as also won more than 30 awards at numerous international/national exhibitions pertaining to his research work. He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council UK and is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK. He is also a Professional Engineer under the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM, Malaysia).
